Over the years I’ve done several projects with high school students.
I’ve written and recorded a radio play spread over multiple 3-hour sessions with 8 children and recorded foley for an animation movie with another group. Handling them requires a good balance off strictness when they need to focus and freedom when they need to let go of some energy. It can be fulfilling, weary and a lot of fun.
I’m currently giving a course of 10 lessons where we’re diving into the studio and record a cover. The different types of microphones, microphone set-ups, DI’s, basic handling of ProTools, writing sheet music and the purposes of guide-tracks are all discussed. This all on a basic level thus making it comprehendible.
